South Carolina Deadly Pedestrian Crashes
Pedestrian fatalities are on the rise in the United States, with a nearly 10% increase in 2015. A pedestrian has little protection in the event of a car accident, which means they are more likely to suffer life-threatening injuries. There were 5,376 pedestrian deaths in the United States in 2015. Nationwide, a pedestrian was killed every 1.6 hours on average that year, with a pedestrian injury every 7.5 minutes.
In a collision with a motor vehicle, a pedestrian is at a significant disadvantage and is more likely to suffer life-threatening injuries. As a result, there has been a significant increase in pedestrian fatalities across the country. Unlike automobile passengers, pedestrians are subjected to the full force of a collision. It is possible that the injuries sustained as a result of this will be fatal. Drivers must give pedestrians the right of way and share the road with them. They may be held liable under state law if they fail to do so. A pedestrian injury lawyer in Winnsboro can assist you in seeking financial compensation for your injuries after being struck by a careless driver.
