According to Bulloch County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Maria Sorrell Road and Stillwater Drive. Police confirmed that a school bus was traveling in the area and yielding to oncoming traffic while the driver was attempting to turn at the intersection. While there, he was tragically pronounced deceased. Police confirmed that the boy was a student at Williams James Middle School.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an hour or more after the accident, which led to delays.
No further details have been released at this time. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
We would like to offer our warmest condolences to the family and friends of the victim whose life was taken in this accident.
