High-Speed Collisions in South Carolina
According to data from the South Carolina Department of Public Safety’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan, speeding is one of the top five factors that cause fatalities and serious injuries in collisions in the state. According to national statistics, speeding contributes to 30% of all road fatalities in the United States each year. A total of 9,378 people lost their lives nationwide in 2018 as a result of driving too quickly for the road conditions. Drivers should be held accountable for their conduct if they violate the law while driving.
After an accident, insurance companies want you to call them as soon as you can, but you should first get medical help and consult with a lawyer who is familiar with South Carolina’s legal system. If you want to make sure that your legal rights are upheld, you must hire legal representation. A sizable insurer should not try to take advantage of you by limiting your right to compensation.
Damages for your personal injury may also include some out-of-pocket expenses you incurred as a result of the accident. In South Carolina, compensation for personal injuries may cover lost wages, medical costs, lost wages while recovering, prescription costs, and pain and suffering. Losses resulting from carelessness are occasionally covered by insurance.
