Savannah, GA (March 21, 2023) – One person was injured in a pedestrian accident that took place on a roadway in Savannah on the night of Saturday, March 18.
According to Savannah Police, the accident happened at 400 East Montgomery Cross Road. Police confirmed that a pedestrian was trying to cross the street in the eastbound lanes of traffic when they were suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle that was traveling in the area. The driver of the vehicle allegedly remained on scene.
Several Savannah responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, identified as an adult female, was injured in the accident. She was rushed to a local hospital by ambulance and was allegedly alert at the time.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
