Sandy Springs, GA – Injuries Reported in Car Crash on GA-400 Near Abernathy Rd
Sandy Springs, GA (March 20, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a serious car crash that took place on a major highway in Sandy Springs on Sunday afternoon, March 20.
According to Sandy Springs officials, the accident happened at 2:56 p.m. in the southbound lanes of GA-400 around the area of exit 5, Abernathy Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they were involved in a chain-reaction collision due to reasons that are not yet known. The involved vehicles were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hurt as a result of the collision. The injured parties, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The right lane of traffic was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police urged those in the area to use Roswell Road as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
