The expenses incurred if you or a loved one has ever been in an automobile accident are well known to most individuals. The situation is made worse by the financial losses incurred from missing work and the rising costs of medical care, follow-up appointments, and auto maintenance. However, if the car accident was not your fault, South Carolina law may require someone else to pay these expenses.

Making a claim for a car accident may enable anyone who suffered losses as a result of a collision caused by the recklessness or negligence of another driver to receive monetary compensation. In this type of civil litigation, the injured party must demonstrate that the at-fault party owed them a duty of care—such as driving lawfully and safely—that the at-fault party violated, that the breach caused the accident and its consequences, and that the violation was the primary cause of the accident.
