Rome, GA – Phillip Brand Killed in Fatal House Fire on Church St

Rome, GA (March 13, 2023) – One person lost their life in a fatal house fire that took place in Rome on the morning of Saturday, March 11.
According to Rome fire crews, the fire broke out around 10:43 a.m. in a home on Church Street. Police confirmed that a fire broke out in a home in the area, and fire crews received several calls. When they arrived at the scene, they found that the home was completely engulfed in flames. It took some time for fire crews to bring the fire under control enough to gain access to the inside of the home.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene. A man who was home at the time of the fire, identified as 36-year-old Phillip Steven Brand, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries caused by the fire. A woman who was the man’s girlfriend was able to make it out of the home in time.
The area was blocked off for several hours as fire crews worked to bring the fire under control.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the fire continues at this time.
