
Rome, GA (February 15, 2023) – A man was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place at a Rome intersection on Tuesday night, February 14.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Riverside Parkway and Turner McCall Boulevard. Police confirmed that a Volkswagen SUV was headed east when it suddenly made a left turn at the intersection, causing it to drive into the path of a Yamaha motorcycle. After the two vehicles collided, the motorcycle also collided with a second SUV that was attempting to make a turn in the area.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has since been identified as 30-year-old Mohammad Tahir from Cartersville, was severely injured in the accident. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was hurt in the collision.
Multiple lanes of traffic were temporarily blocked at the intersection for some time as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
