Rising Fawn, GA – Michael Reese Killed in Pedestrian Accident on GA-157

Rising Fawn, GA (September 27, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on a major roadway in Rising Fawn on Sunday night, September 25. 

According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened around 9 p.m. on GA-157. Police confirmed that a Toyota 4Runner was headed south on the highway and a pedestrian was walking north headed across the street. The Toyota was unable to stop in time by the time they noticed the pedestrian and struck them. The driver of the Toyota came to a stop. 

Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has been identified as 51-year-old Michael Shane Reese, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Nobody else sustained injuries in the collision. 

The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible. 

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
