Some people, however, are more vulnerable to danger than others, and some locations are more dangerous than others. Drivers should be held responsible for their conduct if they don’t share the road with pedestrians.
In our car-centered culture, many drivers just don’t look for or perceive pedestrians. Additionally, many drivers either choose to ignore local laws requiring them to yield to people trying to cross a road or are not even aware of these laws. A pedestrian could sustain serious injuries or even die as a result of a crash.
