Pedestrian Injured in Marietta Hit-And-Run

According to a report from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Marietta police are looking for a hit-and-run driver after a woman walking in the center turn lane of South Marietta Parkway near Lake Drive was “clipped” by a dark-colored passenger car and spun into the opposite lane of travel.

Investigating officers reported that the pedestrian attempted to get out of the travel lanes but was struck by a van. The car that initially struck the woman left the scene and continued eastbound on South Marietta Parkway. No charges are pending at this time against the van driver. The pedestrian, whose name has not been released, was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries.
