Norwood, GA (December 28, 2022) – A man and a young girl were killed in a fatal truck accident that took place on a Norwood highway on Christmas Day, December 25.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened around 1:28 p.m. on I-20 around the area of mile marker 163. Police confirmed that a driver was in a tractor-trailer and started to experience mechanical issues while driving. The driver came to a rest on the shoulder of the highway. When fire crews were able to gain access to the Charger, they found the bodies of a child and an adult inside. The adult was identified as 24-year-old Ryant Torenzo Furtick, who was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The child was identified as a 3-year-old girl.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic for some time following the crash, which led to extensive delays.
