Mt. Airy, GA (February 20, 2023) – Around 4:10 p.m. on the afternoon of Saturday, February 18, a woman was injured in a serious Mt. Airy truck accident.
According to Georgia state officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of GA-365 around the area of Cody Road. Police claim that a woman was traveling north in her Chevy Malibu when a Honda Ridgeline suddenly came into her lane of traffic, forcing the Chevy off the side of the road. The woman then re-entered the roadway, striking a bucket truck. The truck rear-ended the Chevy and overturned in the center median. This led to extensive damage to all of the involved vehicles.
Several Mt. Airy responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene. The driver of the Chevy, who has since been identified as 40-year-old Heather Lee Noble, was transported to Habersham Medical Center for treatment of unknown injuries. Her passengers, identified as a 3-year-old and a 16-year-old, were not hurt in the accident. The driver of the truck, identified as 28-year-old Timothy Frankum, was not hurt in the collision.
Police claim that the driver of the Honda continued onward and did not stop at the scene of the crash. They have not reported if they caught the driver at this time, though charges are pending.
No further details have been released. Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
We offer our warmest sympathies to the party injured in this accident and hope that she will receive a full recovery.
