Moultrie, GA – Verna White Killed in Chase-Related Collision on First Ave

Moultrie, GA (January 27, 2023) – On Wednesday night, January 25, a woman was killed in a fatal accident that took place during a police chase in Moultrie.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened around 10:25 p.m. on First Avenue Northwest. Colquitt County deputies started a police chase due to reasons that are not yet known. They were following 31-year-old Colin Terell when Terell suddenly collided with a vehicle being driven by a Moultrie woman as she was on her way home from church.
Paramedics and several other Moultrie responders were dispatched to the scene to assist those in need. The driver of the vehicle that was struck, identified as 44-year-old Verna White, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the crash due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic as police worked to clear the scene. Police confirmed that Terell was caught and taken into custody by police.
The investigation into the circumstances leading up to the collision continues.
