Marietta, GA – Fatal Rear-End Accident on I-75 Near Terrell Mill Rd

Marietta, GA (February 21, 2023) – Around 10 p.m. on the night of Saturday, February 18, a fatal rear-end collision took place on a highway in Marietta.

According to Marietta Police, the accident happened on I-75 around the area of Terrell Mill Road. Police confirmed that a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was traveling in the area when it suddenly rear-ended a Nissan Maxima. Police confirmed that the Maxima was stopped on the Interstate due to reasons that are not entirely known. Both of the vehicles were forced from the road and came to a stop on the left shoulder. The vehicles were extensively damaged as a result of the accident.

Marietta responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver in the Maxima was rushed to a local hospital with traumatic injuries. However, he was tragically pronounced dead while there. Police did not say if anybody else was injured as a result of the collision.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic on the highway until the scene was fully cleared.

No further details have been released at this time. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
