Macon, GA (February 16, 2023) – Two people sustained injuries in a five-vehicle collision that took place on a Macon highway on Thursday evening, February 16.
According to Bibb County officials, the accident happened at an unspecified time before 6 p.m. at the I-16, and I-75 split near the area of exit 165. Police confirmed that five vehicles became involved in a chain-reaction collision due to reasons that are not yet known. One of the involved vehicles flipped over as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A total of two individuals, who have not yet been formally identified, were injured in the accident. They were rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
A large portion of the road by the accident was blocked until police were able to fully clear the scene. This led to extensive delays in the area for some time.
