Macon, GA (December 27, 2022) – Around 6:30 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, December 27, a man was seriously injured in a Macon pedestrian accident. 

According to Bibb County deputies, the accident happened on Napier Avenue. Police confirmed that a man was walking near the area of Del Park when he suddenly fell due to reasons that are not yet known. He was suddenly struck by a Ford Focus that was traveling east in the area with a driver who may not have seen him in time. 

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has since been identified as 53-year-old Roosevelt King Jr., was critically injured in the accident. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment. 

The driver of the Ford remained at the scene and has since been identified as a 35-year-old woman. She did not receive injuries in the accident and had not been charged. 

The roadway was blocked in several lanes for an extended period of time. 

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
