
Jonesboro, GA (December 22, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a fatal accident that took place at an intersection in Jonesboro on the night of Wednesday, December 21.
According to Clayton County officials, the accident happened before 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of GA-138 and Chase Woods Drive. Police confirmed that a pedestrian was attempting to cross the street at the intersection when they were struck by a passenger vehicle. The driver of the vehicle allegedly remained on scene following the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was harmed in the accident.
The roadway was completely blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
