Fatal Truck Accidents in South Carolina

Truck crashes are the cause of thousands of deaths every year in the United States. Unfortunately, many of these accidents take place right here in the state of South Carolina. When innocent people die as a result of fatal truck accidents, families often struggle to move forward. Knowing that your loved one died due to the reckless or negligent actions of another motorist just makes sapping the loss even more difficult. In many cases, fatal crashes occur at intersections across our state. There are a number of different factors that can contribute to fatal car crashes at intersections. Some of the leading factors include:

Failure to yield the right-of-way: This is one of the most common causes of intersection crashes and happens when a driver does not yield to oncoming traffic or pedestrians when they should.

Speeding: Speeding is a major factor in all types of accidents, but it can be especially dangerous at intersections because it gives drivers less time to react to hazards.

Running red lights and stop signs: This is another very common cause of intersection accidents. Running a red light or stop sign not only puts other drivers and pedestrians at risk but also increases the likelihood of being involved in a multi-vehicle collision.

Distracted driving: Distracted driving is becoming increasingly prevalent with the use of cell phones and other electronic devices while behind the wheel. Even just a few seconds of distraction can lead to an accident, and intersections are often where these kinds of accidents happen.

Losing a loved one as a result of a fatal crash can have an overwhelming impact on your life. In some cases, your family may be able to pursue legal action following the death of a loved one. It is crucial that you seek legal guidance from a wrongful death lawyer in Greenwood County right away.
