South Carolina Auto Accidents
South Carolina has one of the highest rates of traffic deaths in the country, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Residents of the state drove nearly 19% more miles on the state’s highways between 2000 and 2016, compared to the previous decade. In 2018, one out of every 18 drivers in the state was involved in a car accident, according to the most recent accident statistics.
Even the most cautious drivers face the possibility of being involved in a serious collision. It is critical for accident victims to pursue the compensation they deserve after being wrongfully injured by a reckless driver. For the vast majority of South Carolinians, driving is their primary mode of transportation, and colliding with another vehicle is unavoidable in some circumstances. Most drivers, particularly those who aren’t represented by a Greenville personal injury lawyer, are unsure what to do if they are involved in a collision.
