Gillsville, GA (December 28, 2022) – Around 7:38 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, December 27, a woman was killed in a fatal collision at a Gillsville intersection.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-52 and Woodland Drive. Police confirmed that two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time. The two vehicles, identified as a Kia Forte and a Ford Explorer, were badly damaged as a result of the collision.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Police confirmed that Brianna Bonilla was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The other driver, identified as a 45-year-old, was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of unknown injuries.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
