Gainesville, GA (November 29, 2022) – Two people were injured in a car accident that took place on a roadway in Gainesville on Saturday evening, November 26.
According to Hall County officials, the accident happened at 7:40 p.m. on Shirley Road. Police confirmed that a vehicle was traveling in the area when the driver lost control, causing them to slam into a tree around the area of Wild Turkey Way. The vehicle sustained extensive damage as a result of the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately called to the scene to help those in need. Police discovered that there were two people in the vehicle, both of which sustained injuries. The driver, identified as 29-year-old Samantha Ballinger, was extricated by fire crews and taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The passenger, identified as 29-year-old Bryan Martin, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for two hours as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
