Evans, GA (January 6, 2023) – Around 9:15 a.m. on the morning of Friday, January 6, a utility worker was injured in a workplace accident in Evans.

According to Georgia Power, the incident took place on Old Belair Lane just north of I-20. A utility worker was working on the lines in the area when a box truck was traveling through the area. The box truck pulled down lines in the area, causing the worker in the bucket to be knocked backward. He didn’t fall out of the bucket but still took a fall inside of it.

Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. The utility worker, who has not yet been identified, was injured and rushed to Doctor’s Hospital for treatment. They were conscious at the time of arrival.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time. Police completely reopened the lanes by 11:15 a.m.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
