Edgefield, SC – One Killed, Many Hurt in Collision at SC-19 & Diggs Rd
Edgefield, SC (January 13, 2022) – One person was killed and several others injured after a car accident in Edgefield on Monday, January 10. The deadly crash occurred at the intersection of SC-19 and Diggs Road.
Two vehicles were reportedly involved in the collision. A westbound car driven by Lisa H. Keels of Johnston was attempting to cross the highway when she was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by 55-year-old James K. Swygert of Wagener. Keels and her three juvenile passengers were taken to Augusta University Medical Center for treatment of sustained injuries. One of her passengers was later pronounced deceased.
No other information has been released at this time. An ongoing investigation into the fatal crash is underway.
