Eastanollee, GA – Richard Crowe Killed in Pedestrian Accident on GA-17

Eastanollee, GA (September 4, 2022) – Ealy Sunday, September 4, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on a major roadway in Eastanollee. 

According to Stephens County officials, the accident happened in the early morning hours on Historic Highway 17. Police confirmed that an adult male was walking north next to the highway with his bicycle. All of a sudden, a northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee slammed into him from behind. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. 

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The man who was pushing his bicycle, identified as 53-year-old Richard Crowe, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 25-year-old Tyrik Tremayn Combs, was not injured in the accident. 

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible. 

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
