
Decatur, GA (February 2, 2023) – Around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, a child was injured in a pedestrian accident involving a school bus in Decatur. According to DeKalb Police Department officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Brown Drive and Brookside Parkway. Police confirmed that a young boy was running after his bus in the area of the intersection in the early morning hours of the day. He suddenly slipped and fell.
The driver of the bus claimed that they did not see him in time and ran over his leg as a result. Paramedics, fire crews, and several other Decatur responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The young boy was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
He was since listed in stable condition. The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time, which led to delays. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
