Cornelia, GA (March 13, 2023) – Around 12:15 p.m. on Friday afternoon, March 10, a rollover accident with injuries occurred on a major roadway in Cornelia.
According to Habersham County officials, the accident happened on GA-365 just before the 441 Bypass exit. Police confirmed that a 39-year-old man was driving south in his Ford F-150 when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle due to unknown reasons. The vehicle went off the side of the road, striking a culvert and overturning. The vehicle was badly damaged as a result of the collision.
Several responders, including Cornelia paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver and his 42-year-old female passenger both sustained minor injuries in the accident. They were treated after being seen by EMS crews.
The right southbound lane of traffic was blocked on the highway for some time until police were able to clear the scene.
No further details have been released, but police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the two injured victims with hopes of a full recovery.
