Conyers, GA (February 21, 2023) – A man sustained injuries in a semi-truck collision that took place on a Conyers highway on Tuesday afternoon, February 21.
According to Conyers Police, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Salem Road. Police confirmed that a semi-truck became disabled on the highway in one of the lanes when another vehicle came along, slamming into the truck due to being unable to stop in time. The accident led to severe wreckage and debris all over the highway in the area.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A man inside the passenger vehicle sustained injuries in the collision. When EMS crews found the man, he was conscious but bleeding from the head. He was hospitalized, though his condition is not yet known.
A large portion of the road was blocked in the area of the accident until police were able to clear the scene. This led to delays for some time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the man injured in this accident with hopes of a full recovery.
