To begin, insurance companies are businesses that are primarily motivated by the desire to make a profit. They prioritize their bottom line over your best interests, which may lead to them incorrectly rejecting, delaying, or significantly lowering the amount of compensation you are legally entitled to receive from your claim.
It may not always be difficult to ascertain who is at fault in a situation. In other instances, the circumstance is more complex, and it’s possible that both drivers were at fault for the collision in some way. In the realm of personal injury lawsuits, there are some murky circumstances to contend with. It’s possible that you and the defendant are both to blame for an accident that happened, even if you were the one who caused it. In order to figure out who should pay for what damages, the state of South Carolina uses modified comparative negligence, which is a subcategory of comparative negligence.
