Cohutta, GA (December 6, 2022) – Serious injuries were reported in a rollover accident that took place on a roadway in Cohutta on the evening of Tuesday, December 6.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on McGaughey Chapel Road. Police confirmed that a driver was traveling in the area when they suddenly lost control due to reasons that are not entirely known, causing their vehicle to roll over on the side of the road. The involved vehicles were badly damaged as a result of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more parties were trapped inside their vehicle and had to be extricated by fire crews. The victims were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
