Car Accidents in Georgia
A vehicle accident can have an overwhelming impact on your life. Unfortunately, we see many people left with severe injuries due to traffic accidents that occur in Georgia State each year. Many accidents are caused by drivers who are negligent. Some of the most common causes of crashes that we see here in our state include:
- Speeding: Excessive speed is one of the leading causes of car accidents. Speeding makes it difficult to control your vehicle and leaves less time to react to hazards on the road.
- Distracted driving: Distracted driving is any activity that takes your attention away from the task of driving. This can include talking or texting on your phone, eating, drinking, or talking to other people in your vehicle.
- Drunk driving: Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs impairs your ability to operate a vehicle safely. Not only does it make it harder to concentrate and react to things on the road, but it also slows down your reflexes and decision-making abilities.
- Fatigued driving: Fatigued driving is often caused by drivers who are not getting enough sleep or who are working long hours. When you’re tired, it’s harder to concentrate and stay alert, which can lead to mistakes while behind the wheel.
- Reckless driving: Reckless driving behaviors like tailgating, weaving in and out of traffic, or running red lights increase your risk of being involved in an accident. These actions show a disregard for other motorists on the road and can easily lead to a collision.
