Fatal Truck Accidents in Georgia
Because truck drivers are some of the safest drivers on our roads, truck accidents do not happen as commonly as other accidents in Georgia. However, lives are still lost every year as a result of these accidents throughout the state. In 2014, it was reported in Georgia that approximately 155 people were killed in fatal truck accidents.
In 83% of fatal truck accidents, it is important to note that those losing their lives are inside the other involved vehicle. If you have lost someone you love in a fatal truck accident, it is imperative that you speak with an attorney as soon as possible.
Truck drivers spend a long period of time on our roads. This means that they could fall asleep behind the wheel, speed to their destinations, or engage in other reckless acts that lead to fatal accidents every year. On top of this, a trucking company could make negligent hiring decisions that cause a fatality.
