Augusta, GA – Juvenile Pedestrian Injured in Crash at Clark St & Westview Ave

Augusta, GA (March 1, 2022) – A teen was injured in a pedestrian accident that took place at an Augusta intersection on Tuesday, March 1.

According to Richmond County officials, the accident happened at an unspecified time at the intersection of Clark Street and Westview Avenue. A 15-year-old juvenile was standing at the corner of the intersection when two vehicles suddenly collided with one another. One of the vehicles was struck so forcefully that it left the roadway, striking the teen. The drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The 15-year-old was rushed to Augusta University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Both of the drivers were also hospitalized but their injuries were considered minor.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.

The investigation into the accident continues at this time.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.

Pedestrian Accidents in Georgia

By 2020, this number increased to 273. Georgia actually now ranks 4th in the entire U.S. when it comes to pedestrian fatality accidents.
