Atlanta, GA – Two-Vehicle Wreck, Fire on I-20 at Boulevard

Atlanta, GA (January 28, 2023) – On Saturday evening, January 28, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on a local Atlanta roadway in Fulton County, resulting in victim injuries.

The incident happened around 8:30 p.m., according to Atlanta Police Department officers, just before the area near Boulevard from I-20 westbound. At the time of the crash, three vehicles were traveling between two lanes on the right side of the road. A rear-end accident happened shortly thereafter, causing significant damage to all vehicles.

Among the first to arrive were firefighters and emergency medical technicians. As a consequence of the accident, one or more victims suffered injuries, though their current conditions are not known.

The right lanes and off-ramp were blocked for almost an hour, creating considerable traffic jams in the area. Despite an ongoing inquiry to determine what caused the crash, the Atlanta PD has disclosed no more information.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families.

Rate of Multi-Vehicle Collisions in Georgia

Every year, far too many people are forced to confront the harsh reality and aftermath of automotive accidents. Hundreds of thousands of traffic accidents occur in Georgia each year as a consequence of reckless driving or negligence on the part of many motorists.

In fact, according to the most current Georgia Department of Transportation traffic data, approximately 330,000 automobile accidents will have occurred in Georgia alone by the time data for 2021 and 2022 are completed and reviewed. What’s more, despite our state’s lower traffic levels during the pandemic, the troubling trend of increasing traffic accidents continued.

As a result of these accidents, 125,000 people were hurt, and 1,500 died. Because of careless behaviors like texting and driving, drunk driving, and other risks on our roadways, car accidents ultimately affect victims and their families disproportionately.

These victims should not have to be concerned about how they will pay for their medical care while they are healing.
