Atlanta, GA (February 25, 2023) – According to authorities, injuries resulted from a rear-end accident that occurred on a major highway in Atlanta on Saturday afternoon.
Reports show that the accident took place at around 4:00 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75, right before Exit 269 to Barrett Parkway. The most recent information provided by officers suggests that two drivers were traveling in the center and left traffic lanes when one rear-ended the other. Both cars sustained substantial damage and needed to be towed away, and most lanes on Interstate 75 were closed for more than an hour due to the accident.
First responders, including ambulance crews and fire rescue units, were sent to the scene in order to aid those who had sustained injuries. Accident victims who needed medical attention were transported to local hospitals, but it is not yet clear how serious their injuries are.
The inquiry into the accident is still being carried out at this time.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of their fast recovery.
Rear-End Wrecks in Atlanta
On the roads and highways of Georgia and the rest of the United States, rear-end crashes, the most common kind of auto accident, occur all too often. In fact, more than half of all car accidents in Georgia in just one year were classified as rear-end collisions, often known as fender benders.
Though the lion’s share of these accidents ends in only minor bumps and bruises, they are also responsible for more serious injuries, even at low speeds. Spinal cord damage and whiplash, TBIs, and broken bones are just a few of the devastating effects that victims of an accident may endure.
Over the course of the previous year, rear-end crashes were responsible for around 7% or more of all fatal incidents. Thus, protecting your legal rights in the aftermath of an accident is very important, and this is true irrespective of the kind of crash that caused your injuries or the extent of those injuries.
The insurance company does not consider your well-being while making decisions or offering settlements for your injuries. If you or a member of your family has been hurt in an automobile accident that was not your fault, you and yours should contact an experienced Atlanta car accident lawyer as soon as it is convenient for you to do so.
