Atlanta, GA (May 1, 2022) – Injuries were reported following a car crash that took place on an Atlanta interstate on Sunday evening, May 1.

According to Atlanta officers, the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. on southbound I-285 (Outer Loop), north of the Cascade Road exit. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided in the right lanes, blocking that side of the highway. The involved vehicles were extensively damaged and had to be removed from the scene. 

Several responders, including Atlanta paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hurt as a result of the accident and the injured parties were reportedly hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known. 

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues. Police will update with more information as it is available.
