Atlanta, GA (January 28, 2023) – On Saturday, two automobiles crashed on a highway just outside of the heart of Atlanta through Fulton County, causing at least two drivers and/or passengers to sustain injuries.
Officers from the Atlanta Police Department said that the incident happened at 6:10 p.m., just before the northbound I-20 and I-285 junction. Before the crash, two vehicles were weaving between two lanes on the right side of the road, and both collided as a result.
Firefighters and emergency medical services personnel were among the first on the scene. One or more persons were injured as a result of the incident, but their present conditions are unknown.
Nearly an hour of idle traffic on the right lanes and exit ramp produced major congestion in the vicinity, though the roadway has since been cleared. The inquiry into the causes behind the crash is still ongoing, but no new information has been made public.
Our thoughts are with the wounded victims and their loved ones.
