Atlanta, GA - Injuries Occur in Vehicle Wreck on I-20 at Wesley Chapel Rd

Atlanta, GA (January 15, 2023) – News footage showed a serious rear-end accident that took place on a major highway in the Atlanta area on Sunday at about 9:30 a.m.

Recent reports from the Atlanta PD revealed two or three vehicles crashed, and one caught fire just before the exit for Wesley Chapel Road on westbound Interstate 20. The collision occurred between the two middle lanes and the right lane, and it backed up traffic for nearly two hours. Due to their severe damage, both vehicles had to be hauled away from the scene.

Firefighters and EMS workers in Atlanta attended to the victims, but it is unclear if they were taken to the hospital.

Additional information on the crash that occurred this morning is still being compiled by authorities and is expected to be released next week.

We hope that all injured victims will recover quickly.

More than half of all collisions in Georgia occur as the result of a vehicle striking the back of another vehicle (a phenomenon known as a rear-end or fender bender crash).
