Atlanta, GA (December 24, 2022) – On Friday, December 23, an accident occurred on a major Atlanta route, resulting in multiple injuries.
Authorities say at least one driver or the passenger in one car was hurt when two vehicles collided on a busy local interstate stretch.
Officers from the Atlanta Police Department revealed their initial findings about the incident on Friday evening. The crash occurred at 9:30 p.m. on westbound I-285 just before Cobb Parkway. Early investigations revealed that two or three cars were slowing before the Cobb exit when the incident took place.
APD police, other emergency services, and fire rescue vehicles arrived quickly. At least one of the vehicles included injured passengers; however, the nature and severity of their wounds remained unknown.
The roadway was blocked until midnight but has since reopened. Atlanta officials said in a statement that the investigation into the event’s cause is still ongoing.
