Atlanta, GA (March 11, 2023) – A major highway was shut down around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday evening, March 11, in the Atlanta metropolitan area due to a significant collision involving at least two to three cars.
Currently under investigation by the Atlanta Police Department, the accident happened on westbound I-285 close to Exit 20 at the junction with I-75. Traffic in both directions was blocked as a result of two rear-end crashes that almost happened simultaneously.
The city of Atlanta sent firefighters and EMTs to the site of the car collision to assist the injured. However, it is still unknown how seriously those people were hurt.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, they are looking into the incident and have requested any locals in the area or witnesses to contact them.
Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their loved ones.
