
Athens, GA (March 17, 2023) – A worker was hurt in an accident that took place in Athens on the morning of Friday, March 17.
According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened at the University Village Building B Lot around 3:20 a.m. Police confirmed that a UGA employee was conducting work at the building when they were allegedly involved in a workplace accident due to unknown reasons.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The worker, who has not yet been formally identified, was seriously injured in the accident. No other workers were hurt as a result.
The area was blocked off for some time following the accident.
