Athens, GA (March 1, 2023) – A driver sustained injuries in a car accident that took place at an intersection in Athens on the morning of Tuesday, February 28.
According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened at 9:09 a.m. at the intersection of College Station Road and East Campus Road. Police confirmed that a driver was traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time as a second vehicle, causing them to collide with one another. The involved vehicles were severely damaged as a result of the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One of the involved drivers, who has not yet been formally identified, sustained injuries in the accident. They were treated on scene by EMS crews but are expected to be okay.
