
Athens, GA (February 16, 2023) – A driver was harmed in a car accident that took place on a roadway in Athens on the evening of Wednesday, February 15.
According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened at 6:50 p.m. on River Road, close to the area of College Station Road. Police claim that two vehicles were traveling in the area when they became involved in a collision due to reasons that are still under investigation. The vehicles were extensively damaged in the collision, and tow trucks were called to the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other Athens responders were dispatched to the scene. One of the involved drivers, who has not yet been formally identified, sustained pains from injuries caused by the accident. They were treated on scene, but it is not known if they were hospitalized afterward.
Due to the severity of the accident, a portion of the roadway was blocked for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
