College Park, GA – Chain-Reaction Crash on I-285 Leads to Injuries

College Park, GA (May 22, 2022) – One or more parties were injured in a chain-reaction crash that took place on a highway in College Park on Sunday afternoon, May 22. 

According to College Park authorities, the accident happened around 2:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-285 around the area of exit 60, Riverdale Road. Three or more vehicles were traveling at high speeds on the highway when they collided with each other near the median. The vehicles pulled off to the side and sustained severe damages with debris left scattered all over the road. 

Paramedics, fire crews, and other Clayton County responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not known at this time. 

The right lane of traffic was fully blocked for an extended period of time, which led to slight delays in the area. 

No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues. Police will update with more information as it is available.
