West Ashley, SC (December 28, 2021) – Authorities have identified the man and woman killed following a motorcycle accident in West Ashley on Sunday evening, December 26. The fatal crash took place on Magwood Drive near Charlie Hall Boulevard at around 6:20 p.m.
A motorcycle operated by 50-year-old Chad Belue was traveling northbound on the roadway along with another motorcyclist. A southbound Nissan Sentra crossed the centerline and hit the lead motorcycle. Both Belue and his passenger, 49-year-old Lea Cook, sustained fatal injuries in the impact.
The Nissan then hit the second motorcycle, leaving the rider with injuries. The woman operating the Sentra suffered critical injuries in the accident. No updates on the conditions of the involved parties have been provided.
