Swansea, SC (November 14, 2022) – A woman was arrested after a deadly car accident in the Swansea area on Sunday, November 13.
The deadly accident took place at around 9:30 a.m. on Calhoun Road. It was reported that Darlene Richardson was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Impala headed east when she failed to navigate a curve and ran off the road. The Chevy crashed into a tree and overturned.
A 40-year-old Gaston resident riding in the front seat suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Richardson was also hurt and hospitalized for treatment. Richardson was later charged with felony DUI involving death.
An ongoing investigation into the deadly crash is in progress.
