Summerville, SC – One Killed, Seven Hurt in Early Morning Apartment Fire

Summerville, SC (September 30, 2022) – An apartment fire in Summerville on Thursday, September 29, left one person dead and seven others injured. 

The fire was reported at an apartment complex in the Low Country area at around 3 a.m. Multiple people were trapped inside the structure when first responders arrived. A total of 50 firefighters and several departments were required to extinguish the blaze. 

After three hours, the flames were put out. One person was killed in the fire, and seven others were injured. Three of the injured were officers with the Summerville Police Department. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fire is in progress.
