Summerville, SC – High-Speed Chase Ends in Collision on William Ackerman Dr

Summerville, SC (December 4, 2021) – A pursuit in Summerville on Monday, November 29, ended in a two-vehicle crash. The collision took place on William Ackerman Drive. 

Authorities revealed that 23-year-old Damien Rakari Anderson was driving a Dodge Charger when made an illegal lane change without a signal on College Park Road. A sheriff’s deputy engaged his lights, and Anderson sped away, initiating a pursuit. 

The Charger eventually crashed with another vehicle on William Ackerman Drive. Anderson fled on foot and was later apprehended at a local apartment complex. Emergency responders were on-site to provide aid to the occupants of the other vehicle. The extent of the related injuries is currently unknown. 

An ongoing accident investigation is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
