Summerville, GA – Two Killed in Fatal Rollover Crash on Trion-Teloga Rd
Summerville, GA (May 9, 2022) – Two people were killed in a fatal rollover crash that took place on the morning of Monday, May 9.
Georgia State Patrol officials confirmed that the collision happened around 11:42 a.m. on Trion-Teloga Road, just east of Bankey Farm Road. According to the preliminary investigation, the accident happened when a Honda Accord was traveling east when it collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck headed west due to unknown reasons. Following the forceful impact, the Chevy went down an embankment and rolled over. The vehicles involved in the collision were severely damaged as a result of the accident.
Local responders, including paramedics and Summerville fire crews, were called to the scene so that those with injuries could receive assistance. Both the female driver of the Honda Accord, as well as her male passenger, were tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and his female passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
A large portion of the road was blocked in the area for some time as police cleared the scene.
