South Carolina Crashes Caused by Distracted Drivers

Spartanburg, SC - Victims Hurt in Motor Vehicle Wreck on I-85 Near Boiling Springs

Any behavior that takes a driver’s attention away from the road, even temporarily, is considered distracted driving. This includes, but is not limited to, talking on a cell phone, sending or receiving texts, eating, reading, fiddling with the radio, and engaging in conversation with other passengers (including, but not limited to, small children and animals). Due to its great risk and prevalence, distracted driving has been dubbed “the new drunk driving” on American roads.

Depending on the nature of your mishap and your injuries, it may be challenging to make sense of South Carolina’s legislation regulating automotive crashes. There is a strict set of rules, procedures, and deadlines that must be followed at all times in South Carolina courts, as dictated by the law and the courts’ policy. It might be helpful to have someone else take care of the legal details of your personal injury claim while you focus on healing after an accident.

Lawyers that focus on vehicle accidents help their victims seek financial compensation from the driver who was at fault. The state will need proof from you that the at-fault driver breached a reasonable duty of care owed to you, causing your injuries and the expenditures connected with treating them. If you hire us, we’ll look into the accident and gather evidence that shows the other driver was at fault for the incident.
